Introduction 

The Life Virtual Organization (VO) is a community of users within SMSCG with the following shared goals:

  • Research and development based in the domain of life sciences (biology, chemistry, medicine, bioinformatics etc.)

1 List of applications for the Life VO

The following applications are currently supported by the Life VO and installed at several Grid sites:

  • NAMD version 2.6 (molecular dynamics code)
  • GROMACS version 4.0.4 (molecular dynamics code) 
  • GAMESS version 2009 (ab initio quantum chemistry package)

2 Joining the VO

Important: by applying to be a member of the Life VO you implicitly accept to respect the terms and conditions (also known as Acceptable Use Policy) of usage of the SMSCG resources for the Life VO, which is available in PDF format.

Please submit the following page  to join the Life VO.

3 Access to Grid client software

SMSCG sites maintain their own Grid hosts to access the SMSCG Grid resources;

users are advised to contact their sites representatives or the VO contact persons to be granted access.
