SMSCG Infrastructure installation instruction
SMSCG specific services:
The SMSCG infrastructure is composed of the following services:
- SMSCG-CE: Computing interfaces. It provides the necessary services to integrate computing resources belonging to a given site within the SMSCG infrastrucutre. It is composed by an ARC server installation (Grid Manager, GridFTP, BDII), nagios monitoring plugins, SGAS accounting client interface.
- SMSCG-UI: User Interface. It provides the basic client tools to interact with the SMSCG infrasturcture (job submissiona and control, basic data handling, slcs credential and voms-proxy management). It is composed by and ARC User Interface installation, slcs and voms client tools.
- Monitoring system. It provides an aggregated view on the status of the infrastructure for both end-users and site administrators.
- Nagios monitoring. The SMSCG infrastrucutre is monitored using nagios plugins.
- Accounting system. Accounting informations are collected in a central SGAS accounting repository.
- Information Index Service. A central information index service collects addresses of all SMSCG computing and data endpoint. SMSCG-UI points to one or more Indexing services for the resource matching as part of the job submission process.
Deployment Scenario for a Site
A site joining the SMSCG infrastructure could implement any combination of the following scenarion:
- Integrate local computing resource in the SMSCG infrastructure (SMSCG-CE)
- Provide access to the SMSCG infrastructure for local users (SMSCG-UI)
For more information please consult the SMSCG infrastructure description.
